Latin America
In 2023, the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation opened a branch in Sao Paulo to strengthen its presence in Latin America, a geographical area particularly exposed to the problems of deforestation and biodiversity loss. These conservation issues are at the heart of the Foundation's missions, and since its creation in 2006 it has already supported 24 projects in 10 Latin American countries. The branch aims to continue this commitment to : Mitigate the effects of climate change; Promote the use and development of renewable energies; Preserve biodiversity; Promote the sustainable management of water resources; and Combat the desertification of terrestrial ecosystems.
