Organised by the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation (Canada), in partnership with the Palais des congrès de Montréal, the exhibition “La Beauté Sauvera le Monde” (Beauty Will Save the World) features a selection of 19 images from the various editions of the Foundation's Environmental Photography Award.
This moving, enthralling and informative exhibition opened on 18 September to coincide with the One Young World Summit (18-21 September) – in which members of the Foundation's Re.Generation Future Leaders Program are taking part – and can be viewed for free in the Palais’ public space until 15 December 2024.
The exhibition, with scenography by OASIS immersion, offers a reflection on the need for humility in the face of the majesty of nature, through a series of inspiring photographs installed in the heart of the emblematic Claude Cormier’s forest, Lipstick Forest, a sublime artistic and architectural installation of brilliant pink trees.
The Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation (Canada) has designed a journey to celebrate the incredible beauty of nature, through its forests, its seas and oceans, and its polar regions, with the ambition of moving and delighting the public to raise awareness of the challenges we face in preserving ecosystems and biodiversity. In this way, the power of art is placed at the service of the urgent need to protect the environment, so that beauty inspires each and every one of us to take action.
It is with this same leitmotiv that the Foundation's Environmental Photography Award was created in 2021, echoing the missions carried out by the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation internationally in favour of global health, the safeguarding of endangered species and the coexistence of man and wildlife.
“The Palais is pleased to be hosting and offering visitors and Montrealers alike the exhibition La Beauté Sauvera le Monde, organized by the Albert II of Monaco Foundation (Canada). This exceptional event showcases the importance of beauty and art in promoting sustainable development and the preservation of our planet. We hope that this exhibition will inspire our visitors to reflect on the critical role each of us can play to protect our environment.”
Emmanuelle Legault, President and CEO of the Palais des congrès de Montréal
“In a world full of challenges and change, Nature reminds us, powerfully and wisely, of the essence of life. With beauty all around us, humans can, sometimes with little effort, seek it, cultivate it, cherish it and protect it. In doing so, they’re stepping up and working for future generations.”
Dr. Diane Vachon, President of the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation (Canada)
