Monaco
BRUSSELS – (22nd September 2010) – Johnson Controls (NYSE: JCI), the global leader for products, services and solutions to optimise energy efficiency in buildings and vehicles, and the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation today announced the conclusion of a partnership with The Climate Group in preparation for the Euro-Mediterranean Energy Efficiency Forum in 2011.
The Climate Group is an international non-profit organisation whose mission is to develop intelligent policies and technologies designed to reduce global carbon emissions and accelerate the transition towards a carbon-free economy. The Climate Group’s involvement in this event stems from the relationship the organisation holds with Johnson Controls and the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, a relationship founded on a common commitment to sustainable development and deep determination to encourage individuals, companies and governments to reduce their collective impact on the environment.
“We have never known a phenomenon as serious as climate change. However, all the problems that ensue are also opportunities to stimulate innovation and economic growth in Europe. Our intention is to make the Euro-Mediterranean Energy Efficiency Forum the catalyst for our determination to resolve the climate change issue thanks to energy efficiency. We are honoured to be able to work together with two excellent partners, the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation and The Climate Group. Both share our vision and conviction that there is an urgent need to communicate and overcome the obstacles that are preventing us from resolving this global scourge.” explains Agostino Renna, Vice President and General Manager, Energy Solutions, South and Central Europe.
For the second year running, the Euro-Mediterranean Energy Efficiency Forum will bring together experts from governmental and non strategic organisations who could enable Europe and the Mediterranean countries to make substantial energy savings. The inaugural Euro-Mediterranean Energy Efficiency Forum, which was held in April this year, was a resounding success, with H.S.H. Prince Albert II as one of the main speakers.
