Visit to Pelagos Sanctuary

On 17^th June 2017, HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco visited the Pelagos Sanctuary in the company of Giuseppe Notarbartolo di Sciara, a scientist, marine environment specialist and president of the Tethys research institute. He was one of the major instigators behind the creation of the Pelagos Sanctuary. The visit took place as part of the shooting of Danielle Ryan's documentary entitled "The Map to Paradise" focused on the emergence of the marine protected areas movement and the protection of the seabed. Danielle Ryan questioned the Sovereign on the reasons for his commitment to the marine environment and the strong relationship he has with the sea.
