The aim of this long-term research project, based on the frozen peat lands bordering the Arctic, is to measure the greenhouse gas emissions that are released when the ground thaws. The project establishes a climatic reference point, as an indicator of the changes which not only adversely affect the local ecosystem, but also have devastating effects on the planet.
This specific component includes the participation of the local communities faced with this major challenge.
