One Drop Foundation
?More than 80% of the population of Guatemala lives from subsistence farming and production is possible only during the rainy season, i.e. five to six months of the year, which leads to a high level of food insecurity and nutritional vulnerability.
Access to drinking water and sanitation is essential to meet natural needs (drinking, personal and domestic hygiene, family agriculture, livelihoods). This project aims to guarantee 37,000 people the chance to access healthy water, in line with sustainable environmental best practice.
Through three complementary spheres of action (access to water and sanitation, economic development, changes to social behaviour/skills), the focus is on working together for the sustainable improvement of living conditions of the populations, their adaptation to the consequences of climate change and the strengthening of their resilience and autonomy.
