Increase knowledge of biodiversity
Monaco
Monaco
Fondation du Prince Albert II de Monaco
?Two-day workshop in Monaco to address issues: “Which role for wildlife in today’s society?”, “How does wildlife fit in today’s society?”, “Does today’s society leave any place for wildlife?”, with a photo exhibition at the same time to illustrate the conference theme.
This workshop brings together local and international experts who shares their experience and knowledge about the human/wildlife conflict issue. The goal is to provide solutions to the question highlighted by the workshop. The ambit is limited to the "Mediterranean Alps" region, currently a UNESCO candidate.
The concrete results emanating from this workshop enhances the application package. The sessions to be covered include: Nature under high protection? The role of fauna regulation in the prevention and regulation of certain diseases; Wildlife and living better? What innovative and pragmatic solutions to articulate the wild world and pastoralism? Reintroduction strategies: benefits and limitations; Wildlife and constraints of civil society.
The photo exhibition, opening the workshop, is fuelled by the image banks of the project managers and the support of the main players concerned for drafting the photo captions (shepherds, hunters...). Illustrating the issue effectively opens the debate on wildlife in our society.
