Young Water Solutions
?Supporting youth-led water and sanitation start-ups promotes the development of solutions to water challenges, creates jobs, decentralizes economic opportunities, and builds the capacity of younger generations. Based on this, the Young Water Fellowship (YWF) was created in 2017, to fill a gap in the water sector in terms of technical and financial support for young entrepreneurs.
YWF is a one-year program that supports the creation of 30 youth-led social enterprises in Uganda, Senegal and Bangladesh that address local water management issues in line with Sustainable Development Goal 6, while contributing to the development of ecosystems that support young social entrepreneurs in the water and sanitation sector. To achieve this, the program provides 30 selected entrepreneurs, aged 18 to 30 ("Young Water Fellows"), with financial support (seed funding) as well as technical support (training, monitoring and network development).
